The route follows footpaths and minor roads in a circular route via Upper Denby, Gunthwaite Hall, Broad Oak, Papist Hill, Dry Hill, Denby Hall, Wheatley Hill Farm [time permitting], Denby Dale where suitable refreshments will be found whilst awaiting our transport home.

There are shortcuts back to the start should anyone feel that they cannot complete the whole course.

I suggest you read the following articles:
Tips For Backpackers;
Equipment Layering;
Shell Clothing;

In addition to the items below, you will need boots [wellies at at pinch but NOT trainers] and a rucsac to carry the following:

waterproof jacket; waterproof overtrousers; mittens [or gloves]; scarf; balaclava/hat;
drink: not fizzy; not in a glass bottle; hot drink;
food: sandwiches; fruit; additional 'emergency' food;
First Aid kit; spare sweater; whistle; possibly gaiters;

Since this Group was closed I keep this site going as a tribute to the Group, its former members, and because of the vast amount of resources I built up over the years. To lose all this would be a travesty. I do all this at my own expense.
